The Hour of the Star
Life’s gotten in the way of posting lately. Here’s a quick one just to link to my review of the new (brilliant) translation of my favorite novel ever, Clarice Lispector’s Hour of the Star. I’ve written here before about Lispector, because she truly is a great theorist of the nonhuman. The review is mostly about how she represents music in the novel. Enjoy.
More to come soon about my most recent subway reading, Giorgio Agamben’s The Open: Man and Animal.
